Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Facilitate, prepare, and manage the review of all company federal tax returns and ensure accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns, along with other regulatory business filings.
  • Develop and maintain systems and internal controls that guarantee accurate tax reporting, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor tax compliance metrics to ensure deadlines and accuracy targets are consistently met.

Tax Planning & Advisory

  • Develop, implement, and manage strategic tax planning initiatives for federal and state taxes to optimize tax efficiency.
  • Provide tax-related insights and recommendations to internal leadership on business decisions, new projects, and corporate initiatives.
  • Evaluate potential tax implications of organizational changes, transactions, or expansion efforts.

Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation

  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to current tax processes, reporting flows, and internal control mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular tax risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate areas of exposure.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping to support audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, guide, and mentor members of the tax team to drive high performance and continuous professional growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and executive teams to ensure alignment on financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate tax strategies, updates, and regulatory changes effectively to senior management and relevant departments.

Regulatory Monitoring & Updates

  • Stay current on emerging tax laws, regulations, and policy changes at federal, state, and international levels.
  • Update internal tax policies and procedures to reflect new requirements and industry best practices.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed of important regulatory updates impacting the business.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Finance or a related field.
  • A recognized professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CITN) mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.
