Manager Role

The Manager role sits between personal work and team leadership. Managers use Careersome for their own tasks and also for workflows that depend on their direct reports.

What Manager usually owns

  • Team approvals such as time off and, where enabled, timesheets or activity reviews
  • Team performance feedback, probation input, development follow up, and compensation proposals for direct reports
  • Day to day visibility into team status, tasks, and workload signals
  • Personal tasks such as their own time off, performance, development, and assigned actions

What Manager access depends on Manager pages are heavily affected by data shape. A person may have the Manager role, but team pages only become useful when they actually have direct reports attached and the relevant module is enabled.

How Manager works with others

  • Receives company structure and policy from Admin and HR
  • Approves or contributes to team workflows
  • Guides employees through goals, feedback, onboarding support, and development
  • Feeds structured information back into reports and leadership visibility

If a team surface is missing Check the reporting line first, then the module entitlement, then the workflow status.
