Creating Compensation Proposals

Compensation proposals allow managers to recommend salary changes, bonuses, and equity adjustments for their team members.

Creating a Proposal

  1. Navigate to Compensation Management > Planning Workspace
  2. Select the active compensation cycle
  3. Find the employee you want to create a proposal for
  4. Click "Create Proposal" or "Edit Proposal"
  5. Enter proposal details:
    • Current Salary: Employee's current compensation
    • Proposed Salary: Recommended new salary
    • Proposed Bonus: Bonus amount (if applicable)
    • Reason: Justification for the change (performance, market adjustment, promotion, etc.)

Proposal Workflow

  1. Pending: Manager creates proposal
  2. HR Review: HR reviews and validates
  3. Finance Review: Finance checks budget and approvals
  4. Approved: Proposal approved and ready for implementation
  5. Rejected: Proposal declined with reason

Approval Process

  • Proposals go through a structured approval workflow
  • Each approver can approve, reject, or request modifications
  • Comments and feedback are tracked throughout
  • Approval history is maintained for audit purposes

Best Practices

  • Provide clear justification for salary changes
  • Reference performance reviews and market data
  • Consider budget constraints and equity
  • Submit proposals early in the cycle
  • Respond promptly to approval requests
