Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and underwrite insurance risks within the Unit in line with established underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, Company policies, and regulatory requirements, while reviewing policy coverage, terms, and conditions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and ensure the timely issuance and maintenance of policy documents, endorsements, and other relevant insurance documentation.
  • Analyse underwriting data, identify trends, provide insights to support business decisions, and prepare accurate and timely underwriting reports and submissions for NAICOM and Management.
  • Respond to client and policy-related enquiries, maintain accurate underwriting records, collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations, and stay abreast of industry developments, emerging risks, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A good first degree from a reputable institution; a master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • CIIN qualification is optional; other relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of insurance underwriting principles, practices, and risk assessment.
  • Good understanding of insurance products, policy coverage, terms, and conditions relevant to the Unit.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, market developments, and applicable regulatory requirements.
