Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician will support efficient and accurate laboratory operations by conducting diagnostic tests, maintaining equipment, processing samples, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples appropriately.
Perform laboratory investigations according to approved procedures.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Ensure accurate and timely laboratory results.
Maintain proper laboratory records and documentation.
Follow infection prevention, biosafety, and quality control procedures.
Monitor laboratory supplies and report shortages.
Ensure proper handling and storage of samples and reagents.
Support internal quality assurance activities.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.
Requirements
HND in Medical Laboratory Technology or relevant qualification.
3 - 5 years post-clinical experience.
Valid professional registration/licence where applicable.
Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality control.
