Job Summary

  • The Laboratory Technician will support efficient and accurate laboratory operations by conducting diagnostic tests, maintaining equipment, processing samples, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples appropriately.
  • Perform laboratory investigations according to approved procedures.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely laboratory results.
  • Maintain proper laboratory records and documentation.
  • Follow infection prevention, biosafety, and quality control procedures.
  • Monitor laboratory supplies and report shortages.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of samples and reagents.
  • Support internal quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • HND in Medical Laboratory Technology or relevant qualification.
  • 3 - 5 years post-clinical experience.
  • Valid professional registration/licence where applicable.
  • Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality control.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
