About the job

  • The Field Sales Agent is responsible for identifying, acquiring, onboarding, activating, and supporting merchants and customers for Ercas Integrated Solutions Limited's digital payment and financial solutions. The role is expected to drive the adoption of CashMore, ErcasCollect, ErcasPay, and SageCloud by engaging prospective customers, building strong relationships, and delivering exceptional customer experiences that contribute to business growth and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Prospecting

  • Identify and prospect potential merchants, businesses, institutions, and individual customers within assigned territories to generate qualified sales opportunities for Ercas' products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline by conducting regular field visits, networking activities, referrals, and follow-up engagements with prospective customers.
  • Promote Ercas' products by conducting product presentations and demonstrations that clearly communicate the value proposition to prospective merchants and customers.
  • Achieve assigned daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales and acquisition targets as agreed with Management.

Merchant and Customer Acquisition

  • Recruit new merchants and customers for Ercas' digital financial solutions by effectively communicating product features, benefits, and value propositions.
  • Guide prospective merchants and customers through the onboarding process and ensure that all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted promptly.
  • Ensure that all newly acquired merchants and customers successfully complete the activation process and begin actively using Ercas' products and services.
  • Maintain regular communication with newly onboarded customers to encourage sustained usage and long-term engagement.

ErcasCollect

  • Identify and engage organizations that require secure, efficient, and scalable digital collection and payment management solutions such as Hospitals and healthcare providers; Schools and educational institutions; Religious organizations; Estate managers and facility management companies; Clubs, associations, and membership-based organizations; SMEs and growing businesses; Corporate organizations; Government agencies and MDAs; NGOs and development organizations etc.
  • Position ErcasCollect as a comprehensive collections platform that provides a single reconciliation dashboard for both online and offline collections, supported by unique payer identifiers for seamless payment tracking, automated reconciliation, and enhanced transaction visibility.
  • Support customers throughout the onboarding process and ensure successful implementation of the solution.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients to encourage increased utilization of the platform.

ErcasPay

  • Acquire merchants that require digital payment acceptance solutions, including POS terminals, web payment gateway and payment links - such as; Pharmacies and hospitals, Trading and wholesale merchants, E-commerce businesses, Restaurants and hotels, Retail stores and supermarkets, Schools and educational institutions, Service providers (salons, gyms, logistics companies, etc.) Professional service firms (law firms, consulting firms, accounting firms, etc.)
  • Educate merchants on the benefits of accepting electronic payments and provide guidance on the effective use of Ercas' payment solutions.
  • Coordinate the deployment, activation, and training of merchants to ensure successful adoption of ErcasPay services.
  • Encourage merchants to maximize transaction volumes through continuous engagement and relationship management.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with merchants and customers by providing professional, timely, and responsive support.
  • Conduct regular visits to existing customers to monitor satisfaction levels, encourage product usage, and identify opportunities for cross-selling additional Ercas' products and services.
  • Promptly escalate technical, operational, or service-related issues to the appropriate internal teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and follow-up engagements.

Reporting and Administration

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity reports to the Head, Merchant Acquiring.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales leads, customer engagements, onboarding activities, and pipeline opportunities using approved reporting tools.
  • Provide timely market intelligence on competitor activities, customer feedback, pricing trends, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Ensure that all customer information and documentation are maintained in accordance with Ercas' policies and regulatory requirements.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure that all customer and merchant onboarding activities comply with Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Verify the authenticity and completeness of all customer documentation before submission for onboarding.
  • Conduct all sales and customer engagement activities with the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and compliance with Ercas' Code of Conduct.
  • Promptly report any suspicious transactions, fraudulent activities, or compliance concerns to the appropriate internal teams.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The performance of the Field Sales Agent shall be measured using, but not limited to, the following indicators:

  • Achievement of assigned sales and acquisition targets.
  • Number of new merchants onboarded.
  • Number of new customers acquired.
  • Merchant activation rate.
  • Customer activation rate.
  • Transaction volume and value generated by acquired customers.
  • Customer retention and portfolio growth.
  • Cross-selling and upselling performance.
  • Quality and completeness of onboarding documentation.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of sales reports.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any related discipline.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in sales, business development, merchant acquisition, banking, fintech, telecommunications, FMCG, or related industries will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in field sales, merchant acquisition, or digital financial services is desirable.
