Job Role / Objectives

  • Fiphs Infrastructure Limited seeks to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for planning, managing, and controlling all costs associated with construction projects from inception to completion.
  • The role is focused on maximising project profitability and value through proactive involvement in cost planning, cost management, financial reporting, and the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • The successful candidate will ensure that projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining quality and contractual requirements.

Position Overview / Responsibilities

  • Minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
  • Perform risk and value management, as well as cost control.
  • Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Value completed work and arrange payments.
  • Certify works completed by the contractor; assess changes and document variation orders, and carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales final accounts.
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  • Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations.
  • Preparation and adherence to project purchasing targeting and costing budgets.
  • Monitor site resources usage against budget.
  • Support the Tender Preparation Team in the preparation of Bill of Quantities, costing for tenders, schedule of works, specifications and all contract documentation,

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-NYSC in-depth experience of Quantity Surveying, including demonstrated experience in cost management, construction estimating, measurement, and associated procedures and practices
  • Must be a Registered Quantity Surveyor and a member of the relevant professional bodies, including NIQS and QSRBN.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost management, contract administration, procurement, and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and the ability to build credibility and confidence with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments, as well as lead and coordinate teams to achieve project objectives
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
