Timesheets are tracked weekly. Timesheets and the broader Activities module require the Activities / Timesheets capability (platform.activity_timesheets), which is a Professional and Enterprise feature. It is not included in Basic/Starter or Careersome Light.
As an employee
- Open your timesheet for the current week (it is fetched or created for you)
- Add or update time entries for the week (and delete entries you no longer need)
- Submit the timesheet for approval
- If you need to change something before your manager acts on it, withdraw the submitted timesheet, edit, and submit again
As a manager
- Review submitted timesheets from your direct reports from a single team view (not one at a time)
- Approve a timesheet, or reject it with a note explaining why
- View all your employees' timesheets together for the week
A real permission check, not just a role label: approving a timesheet actually verifies you're that specific employee's reporting manager (or that you're Admin/HR acting company-wide), not just that you hold the Manager role somewhere in the company. Every approval and rejection is also recorded in a history log with who acted, when, and any notes.
Statuses in the flow A timesheet moves from draft, to submitted, to either approved or rejected. Withdrawing returns a submitted timesheet to the employee so it can be edited and resubmitted.
Good practice
- Keep entries accurate and submit on time so approvals are not held up
- As a manager, use rejection notes so employees know exactly what to fix
- Remember this module is Professional/Enterprise only; Basic/Starter and Light tenants do not have timesheets
