Mshel Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to oversee the technical aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either engineering/Building technology or architectural disciplines, with the ability to ensure the seamless integration of design and construction.

  • Using design software and drawing tools to accurately plan and prepare structural designs for all projects including buildings, roads as may be necessary
  • Overseeing project site(s) as the main technical adviser and ensuring that all materials used and work performed are following plans and specifications;
  • Computing material costs and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project(s);
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in any construction project;
  • Reviewing plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations;
  • Day-to-day management of the project site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors;
  • Inspecting and surveying the project site;
  • Managing, monitoring, and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect;
  • Liaising with clients and their representatives and providing them with regular progress reports;
  • Obtaining all necessary permits for the commencement of any construction project;
  • Outlining the scope of work and respective timelines as well as efficiently organizing the project site facilities to meet agreed deadlines;
  • Ensuring quality control and health and safety matters on project site(s);
  • Resolving any technical issues and other problems that may arise on project site(s);
  • Preparing reports as may be required by the Company

Qualifications:

  • Bsc/HND in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering/architectural discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Site Engineer, Architect, or in a similar technical role in the construction industry
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
