The Senior Accountant will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with statutory regulations, and provide strategic financial guidance to management.
The role requires strong analytical capabilities, leadership competence, and extensive experience in accounting operations within a structured business environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage the company's general ledger and ensure accurate postings.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Supervise account reconciliation and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory obligations.
Coordinate external audits and provide required documentation.
Monitor cash flow and financial performance indicators.
Prepare management reports and financial analysis for decision-making.
Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship.
Develop and improve financial policies and internal control systems.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable operations.
Ensure payroll accuracy and financial integrity.
Liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
Support business growth through financial strategy and risk management.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Must be a Chartered Accountant (Associate level) - ICAN/ACCA/ANAN.
Masters of Business Administration is an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 4-5 years accounting experience (Note: Years of experience is highly required)
Experience in publishing, manufacturing, or FMCG sector is an advantage.
