Job Summary

  • The Senior Accountant will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with statutory regulations, and provide strategic financial guidance to management.
  • The role requires strong analytical capabilities, leadership competence, and extensive experience in accounting operations within a structured business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the company's general ledger and ensure accurate postings.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Supervise account reconciliation and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory obligations.
  • Coordinate external audits and provide required documentation.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial performance indicators.
  • Prepare management reports and financial analysis for decision-making.
  • Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship.
  • Develop and improve financial policies and internal control systems.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable operations.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and financial integrity.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support business growth through financial strategy and risk management.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant (Associate level) - ICAN/ACCA/ANAN.
  • Masters of Business Administration is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years accounting experience (Note: Years of experience is highly required)
  • Experience in publishing, manufacturing, or FMCG sector is an advantage.
