The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, product penetration, and profitability across the assigned region for SNF Foods Limited.

The role will lead the execution of regional sales strategies, develop and manage distribution channels, strengthen relationships with key customers, and identify new business opportunities across SNF Foods\' product portfolio and target markets.

The position also provides leadership to the regional sales team, ensuring effective territory coverage, achievement of sales targets, customer retention, disciplined sales execution, and continuous improvement in commercial performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Regional Sales Strategy & Business Development

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies in line with SNF Foods Limited\'s overall commercial objectives.
  • Translate company sales targets into clear regional, territory, and individual sales objectives.
  • Identify new markets, customer segments, territories, and business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Monitor regional market trends, customer preferences, pricing movements, competitor activities, and industry developments.
  • Recommend appropriate commercial initiatives to improve market share, revenue, and profitability.

Distribution & Channel Management

  • Develop, manage, and expand an effective network of distributors, wholesalers, dealers, retailers, and other relevant trade partners.
  • Ensure adequate product availability and distribution coverage across assigned territories.
  • Identify gaps in distribution and develop initiatives to improve product accessibility and market penetration.
  • Strengthen channel relationships through regular engagement, business reviews, and joint market-development initiatives.

Key Account & Customer Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic accounts, distributors, retailers, institutional customers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify high-value accounts and develop appropriate account-management strategies.
  • Understand customer needs and provide commercially viable solutions that support customer retention and business growth.

Sales Target & Performance Management

  • Take ownership of regional sales targets and ensure consistent achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives.
  • Monitor sales performance by territory, product, customer, channel, and sales representative.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the regional sales team.
  • Set clear performance expectations and objectives for Area Sales Managers, Territory Sales Officers, Sales Representatives, and other assigned personnel.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and field evaluations.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to improve sales capability, customer management, negotiation, and territory execution.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture built around accountability, teamwork, customer focus, and achievement of results.
  • Identify training and development needs within the regional sales team.

Market Expansion & Product Development Support

  • Identify opportunities for introducing SNF Foods products into new territories, channels, and customer segments.
  • Gather feedback from customers and the market on product quality, pricing, packaging, availability, and competitiveness.
  • Work closely with Marketing and other relevant functions on product launches, promotions, campaigns, trade activities, and market activation.
  • Support the development of regional initiatives that improve product awareness and customer demand.
  • Provide management with actionable market intelligence to support commercial and product decisions.

Commercial & Operational Discipline

  • Ensure compliance with approved company policies, pricing structures, credit limits, sales procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, and other departments to ensure seamless order fulfilment and customer service.
  • Monitor customer credit exposure and escalate potential collection risks where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Food Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • An MBA or relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 - 12 years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the FMCG, food, agriculture, agribusiness, consumer products, distribution, or related industries.
  • At least 3 - 5 years in a regional, area, or senior sales management capacity.
  • Proven experience managing distributors, wholesalers, dealers, key accounts, and multiple sales territories.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong experience in market expansion, customer acquisition, channel development, and revenue growth.
  • Experience managing and developing sales teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, distribution structures, and commercial practices in Nigeria.
