The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all downhole tools, equipment, and operational processes meet defined quality standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role supports operational integrity by conducting detailed inspections, verifying compliance, and ensuring that all equipment deployed to the field meets industry and company quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed inspections on downhole tools (MWD, LWD, wireline, slickline) and pressure control equipment to ensure compliance with technical specifications
Perform visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections using standard inspection tools and equipment.
Verify that all equipment meets required quality, safety, and operational standards prior to field deployment.
Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality documentation for accurate inspection processes.
Identify defects, non-conformances, and deviations, and initiate corrective and preventive actions
Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation
Ensure all inspection and measuring equipment are properly calibrated and fit for purpose
Monitor adherence to QHSE standards, company procedures, and client requirements.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring all quality documentation is accurate and up to date
Collaborate with engineering, workshop, and field teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (API, ISO 9001:2015).
Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement within operations
Required Qualifications
HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field
Proficiency with standard inspection tools and NDT equipment
Hands-on experience inspecting downhole tools (MWD, LWD, wireline, slickline) and pressure control equipment
Certifications such as: ASNT Level II (or equivalent NDT certification) CSWIP 3.1 / CWI ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems)
Strong understanding of quality control processes, inspection standards, and documentation
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
