Job Summary

The Programs Manager serves as a strategic leader responsible for driving Our Client's grants, fundraising, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of fundraising strategies, identify and secure grant opportunities, manage donor relationships, and ensure effective delivery and reporting of grant-funded programs. The role requires a highly experienced professional who can build strategic partnerships, strengthen stakeholder relationships, oversee grant management processes, and provide leadership to the Grants & Partnerships team while supporting the Foundation's Education, Health, and Shelter initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Fundraising Strategy & Resource Mobilization: Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy with clear quarterly and monthly milestones to achieve the Foundation's revenue targets. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities from local and international donors while strengthening existing fundraising channels. Build sustainable relationships with donors, volunteers, corporate organizations, trusts, foundations, and development partners to increase funding, donor retention, and long-term engagement.
  • Grant Writing & Grant Management: Lead the identification, development, and submission of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, pitch decks, and donor presentations. Manage the full grant lifecycle, including application, negotiation, implementation, reporting, compliance, and close-out. Coordinate grant agreements and ensure timely execution of donor requirements. Work closely with program teams to monitor project implementation and prepare high-quality donor reports and impact assessments.
  • Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and manage strategic partnerships with corporate organizations, government agencies, development organizations, foundations, and international partners. Build and maintain a comprehensive partnerships database while ensuring effective engagement with key stakeholders. Plan and coordinate stakeholder meetings, donor engagement events, partnership forums, press conferences, recognition events, and other initiatives that strengthen the Foundation's visibility and impact.
  • Program Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on grants, partnerships, fundraising performance, and program impact for Executive Management and the Board. Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to develop baseline studies, impact assessments, and performance measurement frameworks. Regularly evaluate fundraising and partnership performance, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend strategies for increased donor engagement and revenue generation.
  • Team Leadership & Capacity Development: Provide leadership and direction to the Grants & Partnerships team to ensure high performance and accountability. Build strong collaborative relationships across departments to support organizational objectives. Identify staff development needs through coaching, mentoring, and training while supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Budget Planning & Financial Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets and operational plans that support grants and partnership activities. Monitor program expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and donor requirements. Ensure financial reports and supporting documentation comply with funding agreements and organizational financial policies.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Development Studies, International Relations, or a related discipline.
  • A Master's degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management, Grant Management, Fundraising, or Monitoring & Evaluation are desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least 5 years in fundraising, grants management, partnerships, client services, or program management within the nonprofit, development, or social impact sector.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants from local and international donor organizations.
  • Proven experience managing donor-funded projects and stakeholder relationships.

Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF Nigeria) Ltd/Gte is currently recruiting a Finance Manager based in Sokoto. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant financial management, including accounting, reporting, cash management, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and donor compliance at the base level. The position oversees financial controls while providing timely financial analysis, reports, and recommendations to support decision-making and mitigate financial risks. Additionally, the role supervises and develops finance staff through performance management, training, mentoring, and capacity-building initiatives to strengthen financial operations and accountability. Position Details Reporting to: Field Coordinator Proposed start date:October 2026 Work location:Sokoto, Sokoto State Key Responsibilities: Disseminate accounting procedures across the base and ensure strict compliance with established financial policies and procedures; Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and proper budget allocation of all financial transactions and expenses; Ensure field accounting books are closed monthly within the established deadlines; Ensure the timely submission of accounting information and reports to the Capital Office; Ensure monthly cash counts and bank reconciliations are completed and accurately documented for all field accounting books; Ensure all accounting records and supporting documentation are updated daily, and that bank books and cash books are regularly reconciled; Review monthly field accounting to verify the accuracy of account codes, budget line allocations, and transaction descriptions, and provide timely feedback to field administrative staff; Prepare detailed reports on outstanding and prepaid advances for the Head of Finance upon request; Ensure the base complies with all applicable in-country tax regulations and policies; Ensure monthly Withholding Tax (WHT) deductions are correctly applied, recorded, and reflected in the accounting system; Ensure complete and accurate filing of all WHT-related documentation on a monthly basis; Support the Head of Finance in maintaining an effective and compliant tax management system at the base; Assist budget holders in preparing forecasts and monitoring budget utilization against approved plans; Receive, review, and incorporate budget forecasts into the BFU; Organize and lead monthly BFU meetings at the base and provide grant-specific updates to the Deputy Head of Finance; Monitor over- and under-spending by budget line and provide recommendations and feedback to the Deputy Head of Finance; Inform the Head of Finance of any issues or developments that may impact the financial status of grants; Alert the Head of Finance and Field Coordinator to any identified financial risks and propose corrective actions; Review donor guidelines and ensure donor compliance requirements and budget flexibility provisions are respected; Ensure proper filing, archiving, and management of grant vouchers and supporting documentation in coordination with the Capital Finance Team and Deputy Head of Finance; Implement and monitor compliance with cash management procedures at the base; Share audit reports with the Head of Finance, including recommendations and action plans for improvement; Monitor and follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation of corrective measures; Report suspicions of fraud or corruption through the appropriate reporting channels; Identify potential fraud and corruption cases and ensure prompt escalation and follow-up; Raise awareness among staff on fraud prevention, corruption risks, and compliance requirements; Conduct performance appraisals and set quarterly and annual objectives for the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant; Conduct periodic internal audits using the Financial Audit Procedure (FAP) tool; Organize BFU and forecasting meetings with finance and non-finance staff to strengthen understanding of budget management and forecasting processes; Develop and deliver training programs for finance staff on accounting policies, procedures, and financial management tools; Assess training needs within the finance team and arrange appropriate learning and development opportunities; Provide induction and orientation training on accounting procedures and systems to newly recruited finance staff; Conduct regular refresher training sessions on accounting tools and procedures for both new and existing finance staff; Develop and propose new tools and processes to the Head of Finance to improve accounting quality, efficiency, and budget allocation; Supervise, mentor, and support the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant to ensure high performance and professional development; Ensure the availability, security, and proper safeguarding of cash resources; Authorize and process payments for purchases that fall within the approved monthly forecast and delegation of authority; Ensure timely submission of realistic and accurate cash forecasts to the Capital Office; Meet regularly with program managers to develop reliable forecasts aligned with operational spending plans; Monitor expenditures against approved forecasts, analyze variances between cash and budget forecasts, and implement corrective actions where necessary; In collaboration with the Capital Finance Officer, monitor fund balances and ensure optimal cash levels are maintained throughout the month; Ensure funds are requested in accordance with approved cash forecasts and operational requirements; Work closely with the finance team to strengthen technical capacity, improve performance, and promote continuous professional development. Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Officer whose primary role is to provide high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and care to vulnerable populations, including children, adolescents, adults and families in Mobbar.. Position Details Reporting to: MHPSS Programme Manager Proposed start date: September 2026 Work location: Damasak and Maiduguri Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments and plan the appropriate interventions and follow-up for the beneficiaries. Ensure an appropriate, safe and confidential environment for psychological interventions (framework to discuss highly emotional issues, set up group rules, values, exercises, etc.), in communities, schools, camps, primary health care centres, community-based organizations, and home visits. Ensure the high quality of intervention and care are provided to beneficiaries. Ensure regular and proper use of psychometric scales. Provide individual and group therapeutic sessions and activities for persons in need, including children, adolescents, adults, families and persons with specific vulnerabilities following strictly standard ACF protocols. Ensure confidentiality and proper documentation of clinical details in the patient file. Ensure referrals to specialized services (MHPSS, Health, Protection etc) when needed, according to ACF protocols and national standards; Follow-up the quality of care provided by partnering agencies and actors; Follow-up closely on protection issues. Provide staff care to health workers and community helpers, according to ACF protocols and national policies. Provide psychological support remotely if needed (in case of no access to the field). Prepare (with the program manager) and conduct trainings for general practitioners, nurses, midwives, health workers, and psychosocial workers in primary health care centers, hospitals, on MHPSS, protection and care practices, according to ACF international standards (like mhGAP, PM+, IPT, Thinking Healthy, child development, basic helping skills, Life skills, Social and Emotional skills, etc). Conduct regular on the job and group supervision of trained non-specialists, including technical support, case management, patients' assessments, counselling skills. Assist the ACF psychosocial workers to prepare and conduct training and technical supervision for community-based organizations and stakeholders (conduct trainings in absence of psychosocial workers). Contribute to the training and supervision of ACF psychosocial workers and ACF teams of other department (particularly on Psychological First Aid and psychosocial/protection issues and referral). Ensure the high-quality standard of capacity building. Participate actively in clinical and technical supervision conducted by the Program Manager and HoD MHPSS; proposing monthly case studies. Contribute to the design of sectorial guidelines, protocols, SOPs and methodologies of work for tailored interventions. As defined by the project manager, contribute to any other project activity, including multi-sectorial integrated activities, psychoeducation and awareness sessions and campaigns, needs assessments, gender and protection risks assessments, mapping of actors and services, workshops, selection of beneficiaries, identification of vulnerable groups, planning of activities, etc.; Permanently evaluate needs and gaps related to MHPSS and protection, report challenges, suggest project improvements for implementation and propose new interventions. Contribute to data collection, monitoring, evaluation and reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, according to ACF tools and processes; Guarantee and ensure the confidentiality of beneficiaries' information and data collection at any time, and for any activity. Understand and follow the logistic, financial, HR and security procedures enabling the project implementation. Collaborate actively with other ACF departments. Contribute to represent ACF at the field level through meetings with implementing partners, INGOs and NGOs, cluster and working group coordination, on request of the program manager and HoD MHPSS.
