JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a competent and results-oriented Procurement Officer to support the organization's procurement activities by ensuring timely, cost-effective, compliant, and efficient sourcing of block production materials and machinery leasing services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing and implementing procurement strategies in line with organizational objectives.
Forecasting procurement needs and preparing short- and long-term procurement plans.
Identifying, evaluating, and selecting reliable suppliers.
Negotiating contracts, prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
Maintaining effective supplier relationships and monitoring supplier performance.
Preparing and issuing purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
Resolving purchase order discrepancies, delays, and other procurement-related issues.
Monitoring market trends and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Monitoring and managing procurement budgets.
Driving cost reduction and efficiency improvements across procurement activities.
Ensuring compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and company procurement requirements.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
Conducting procurement risk assessments and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
Collaborating with internal departments to understand and meet their procurement requirements.
Providing regular procurement reports and updates to management.
Promoting continuous improvement in procurement processes and practices.
Performing other procurement-related duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned by Management.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant professional certification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 - 3 years' relevant procurement experience, preferably in the construction, block production engineering, and machinery maintenance industry.
Good knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple procurement activities effectively.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and cost-consciousness.
