I&M Bank is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Officer, Back Office to support branch operations by ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient processing of transactions in line with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Verify outward clearing transactions including cheques, EFTs, salary transfers, direct debits, and unpaid items.
- Process and reconcile clearing transactions within the Clearing System and Core Banking System.
- Process outward SWIFT and RTGS remittances, including vetting customer instructions and obtaining approvals.
- Verify inward clearing items and manage customer notifications on unpaid instruments.
- Authorize in-house cheque transactions within the system.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries relating to clearing and reconciliation items.
- Act as joint custodian of the Branch Vault and/or ATM.
- Supervise and coach support staff where applicable.
- Ensure daily customer call-backs are conducted.
- Reconcile branch suspense accounts and prepare periodic reports.
- Support the growth of the Bank through cross-selling of products and services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field from a recognized institution.
- Part qualification in CPA (K), ACCA, or an equivalent professional certification.
- 1-3 years' relevant banking or financial services experience.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good report-writing skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Gujarati language is mandatory due to the need to support a diverse customer base.
