JOB SUMMARY

This role requires a combination of engineering knowledge, practical field experience, equipment application knowledge and client-facing technical capability.

The successful candidate will work with clients, OEMs, suppliers, contractors and Raybond\'s internal commercial and engineering teams to understand technical requirements, recommend suitable instrumentation and control solutions, support equipment selection and procurement, and ensure successful installation, commissioning and after-sales support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Instrumentation & Control Engineering

  • Provide technical engineering support for instrumentation, automation and control projects.
  • Identify, specify and recommend appropriate industrial instrumentation for client applications.
  • Work with pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical and other process measurement instruments.
  • Support the selection and application of sensors, transmitters, switches, controllers, control valves, actuators and related instrumentation.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, equipment manuals and other technical documents.
  • Prepare or review instrument specifications, datasheets, equipment schedules and technical documentation.
  • Assist with instrumentation and control system design and engineering activities.
  • Support the integration of field instrumentation with PLC, SCADA, DCS and other control systems where applicable.

Technical Sales & Business Development Support

  • Work closely with the commercial/business development team to provide technical support during customer engagements.
  • Visit customer sites to understand technical requirements and operational challenges.
  • Conduct technical discussions with plant engineers, maintenance teams, procurement departments and other client representatives.
  • Recommend suitable instrumentation and automation solutions based on the customer\'s application, operating conditions and budget.
  • Prepare technical inputs for quotations, tenders, proposals and commercial offers.
  • Review customer specifications and develop appropriate technical solutions.
  • Assist in preparing technical bid evaluations and equipment comparisons.
  • Support the identification of new business opportunities relating to instrumentation, automation, control and industrial equipment.
  • Participate in product presentations, technical demonstrations and customer meetings.
  • Maintain strong technical relationships with clients and OEM partners.

Equipment Supply & OEM Coordination

  • Support the supply of instrumentation, automation and control equipment from Raybond\'s OEM and manufacturing partners.
  • Review OEM catalogues, technical specifications and product documentation.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information, drawings, quotations and product recommendations.
  • Assist in selecting equipment that meets client specifications and application requirements.
  • Review vendor technical documentation before equipment delivery.
  • Provide technical clarification to clients regarding supplied equipment.
  • Develop sufficient product knowledge to confidently represent Raybond\'s instrumentation and automation product portfolio.

Installation & Commissioning

  • Provide technical supervision and support during installation of instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Ensure instruments are installed in accordance with approved drawings, manufacturer recommendations and project specifications.
  • Participate in instrument calibration, loop checking, functional testing and commissioning.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning of control valves, sensors, transmitters and other instrumentation.
  • Identify and resolve installation and commissioning issues.
  • Prepare commissioning records, inspection reports, test sheets and punch lists.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, process and other engineering teams during project execution.
  • Support equipment start-up and handover activities.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Provide preventive and corrective maintenance support for instrumentation and control equipment supplied or serviced by Raybond.
  • Diagnose instrumentation faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot faulty sensors, transmitters, control valves, controllers and related equipment.
  • Carry out or support instrument calibration and verification.
  • Assist clients in identifying the root cause of recurring instrumentation failures.
  • Recommend equipment replacement, upgrade or modernization where required.
  • Provide technical support during emergency breakdowns and plant maintenance activities.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and technical recommendations.

Site Survey & Technical Assessment

  • Conduct site visits and technical surveys at customer facilities.
  • Assess existing instrumentation, automation and control systems.
  • Identify obsolete, damaged, inefficient or inadequate instrumentation.
  • Gather technical information required for equipment selection and project proposals.
  • Take relevant measurements and collect equipment specifications from site.
  • Prepare site survey reports and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvement, equipment replacement, automation and process optimization.

Project Execution

  • Support the Engineering Team in planning and executing instrumentation-related projects.
  • Develop project-specific technical documentation.
  • Monitor instrumentation activities against project schedules.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and OEMs.
  • Ensure technical deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates.
  • Assist with project documentation, handover packages and close-out activities.

Client & After-Sales Technical Support

  • Provide professional technical support to Raybond customers after equipment delivery and installation.
  • Explain equipment operation and maintenance requirements to customers.
  • Provide basic user training where required.
  • Support customers with troubleshooting and technical queries.
  • Follow up on equipment performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend spare parts and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer technical issues and resolutions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor\'s Degree or HND in Instrumentation Engineering and related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in instrumentation, automation, control systems, industrial equipment, maintenance or engineering services.
  • Practical experience in industrial/process environments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in oil & gas, cement, manufacturing, mining, power, water treatment or other process industries will be an advantage.
  • Experience in equipment supply, installation and commissioning will be an added advantage.
  • Experience dealing with OEMs, industrial suppliers and end-user customers is desirable.
