Job Overview

  • The Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical and electronic systems in the company's trucks, vehicles, and other operational equipment at our Calabar location.
  • The role will ensure that vehicles are electrically safe, reliable, and available for operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in trucks and other company vehicles.
  • Inspect vehicle electrical systems and identify faults before they result in breakdowns.
  • Maintain and repair batteries, alternators, starters, lighting systems, wiring, switches, sensors, and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems in heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Ensure electrical repairs are completed safely and within the required timeframe.
  • Maintain proper records of repairs, faults, parts used, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO; relevant technical qualification or trade certification is an advantage.
  • Proven experience as an Electrician, preferably in a haulage, transport, logistics, or heavy-duty vehicle environment.
  • Experience working on trucks and heavy-duty vehicles is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
  • Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' proven experience working as an electrician.
  • At least 2 years' experience working on trucks, trailers, buses, or other heavy-duty commercial vehicles is preferred.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with batteries, alternators, starters, wiring, lighting systems, sensors, switches, and vehicle electrical components.
