Job Type: Contract / Locum (3 Months: 12th October - 12th January) Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM About the Role MEV Specialist Hospital is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dental Therapist to join our clinical team on a 3-month locum contract running from October 12th to January 12th. The ideal candidate will work full-time (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) to provide preventive, restorative, and educational oral health services to our patients. Key Responsibilities (Job Description ) Perform clinical dental procedures, including scaling and polishing, routine extractions, and basic restorative fillings and teeth whitening procedure. Conduct oral health assessments and formulate individual patient preventive care plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene, proper nutrition, and dental disease prevention and gum treatment. Administer local anesthesia safely prior to dental procedures within scope of practice. Take and process intraoral dental radiographs (X-rays) for diagnostic support. Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols within the clinic. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records. Assist senior dentists during complex procedures when needed. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's Degree in Dental Therapy from a recognized institution. Licensure: Valid license and current registration with the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria (DTRBN). Availability: Must be fully available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, for the entire 3-month duration (12th October - 12th January). Experience: Minimum of 1 - 2 years of clinical experience as a Dental Therapist. Skills: Proficient in prophylactic treatments, operative dentistry, and dental radiography. NYSC: Must possess a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate or an official Exemption Letter. Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of clinical experience (post-internship) in a private practice, public general hospital, or teaching hospital. Clinical Skills: Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental) and modern diagnostic digital radiography equipment. Competencies: Excellent patient manner (especially with pediatric and anxious patients), strong command of English, and exceptional manual dexterity.
