We are looking for a qualified and certified Dental Therapist to join our dental clinic. The successful candidate will act as a primary oral healthcare clinician, delivering essential preventive and minor restorative dental procedures. You will manage your own chair-side patient flow, assist senior Dentists with complex surgeries, and lead community oral health outreach campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Routine Care: Perform comprehensive oral health assessments, physical dental examinations, and initial diagnoses.
Hygiene & Prevention: Execute deep scaling and polishing (prophylaxis), root debridement,Teeth Whitening and the application of topical fluorides and fissure sealants.
Radiography: Capture, process, and accurately interpret intraoral dental X-rays under clinical safety rules.
Community Outreach: Lead community and school-based oral hygiene education campaigns to advise on dietary health and proper brushing practices.
Patient Referral: Identify orthodontic, periodontal, or endodontic issues and swiftly refer patients to the supervising General Dentist or Specialist.
Sterilization Control: Adhere to strict cross-infection control policies, ensuring dental instruments are sterilized and dental units are sanitized after every session.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Dental Therapy from an accredited Nigerian institution.
Regulatory Licensing: Must be fully registered with the Dental Therapists' Registration Board of Nigeria (DTRBN) with a valid, current annual practicing license.
NYSC: Must possess a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate or an official Exemption Letter.
Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of clinical experience (post-internship) in a private practice, public general hospital, or teaching hospital.
Clinical Skills: Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental) and modern diagnostic digital radiography equipment.
Competencies: Excellent patient manner (especially with pediatric and anxious patients), strong command of English, and exceptional manual dexterity.
