  • A4&T Power Solutions is seeking for Chief Technical Officer who will lead the technical function of the organization, providing strategic direction, engineering expertise, and operational oversight for all renewable energy (primarily solar PV) projects.
  • The role is responsible for design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of solar systems, while ensuring high performance, compliance, and innovation across all technical operations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Technical Department
  • Develop and implement engineering standards, policies, and procedures
  • Apply modern engineering techniques to solve complex technical challenges
  • Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of solar PV systems
  • Validate and present technical outputs, reports, and project documentation
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor engineering and technical teams

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering Oversight

  • Lead solar resource assessments, feasibility studies, and performance evaluations
  • Supervise system design, optimization, and cost-efficiency improvements
  • Provide expert guidance on PV components (modules, inverters, trackers, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices

Project Management & Execution

  • Oversee end-to-end solar project delivery (design to commissioning)
  • Manage technical resources for timely and quality project completion
  • Conduct site assessments and resolve technical risks or hazards
  • Monitor project progress through site visits and performance tracking
  • Supervise grid connection works, grounding systems, and system testing

Installation & Maintenance Oversight

  • Oversee installation, inspection, and maintenance of solar systems
  • Ensure proper weatherproofing and system durability standards
  • Lead troubleshooting and technical issue resolution
  • Supervise service and maintenance teams for optimal system performance

Training & Capacity Development

  • Design and deliver technical training programs for staff and partners
  • Develop training materials (manuals, presentations, assessments, etc.)
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using KPIs and feedback mechanisms
  • Maintain training records and curriculum database

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Serve as technical point of contact for clients and partners
  • Provide technical reports and progress updates to stakeholders
  • Support business development through technical input and proposal development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and technical partners

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor industry trends and emerging renewable technologies
  • Drive innovation in system design and project delivery
  • Evaluate new technologies (solar, wind, biomass, etc.) for business application

Educational Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Eng. (Hons.) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Professional certification in renewable energy or engineering (added advantage)
  • Minimum of 4 - 7 years relevant experience in renewable energy/solar industry
  • Proven experience in technical leadership and project execution (KPI's)
  • Project delivery timelines and completion rate
  • System performance efficiency and uptime
  • Reduction in technical faults and rework
  • Training effectiveness and partner competency levels
  • Client satisfaction and technical support quality
  • Compliance with safety and engineering standards
