The CTO will be responsible for ensuring that all projects meet the company's standards for design excellence, structural and architectural integrity, construction quality, functionality, durability, aesthetics, cost efficiency, and attention to detail. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who understands buildings not only at the conceptual level but also at the construction-detail level including drawings, specifications, materials, finishes, interfaces, workmanship, and site execution. Key Responsibilities Provide overall technical leadership for the company's construction and development projects. Establish and maintain technical standards, procedures, specifications, and construction best practices. Review and approve architectural, engineering, construction, and technical documentation. Ensure that designs are aesthetically strong, functional, practical, cost-effective, and buildable. Challenge and improve designs where necessary to achieve better functionality, constructability, durability, and value. Ensure consistency between architectural intent and actual site execution. Coordinate architectural designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building services. Review shop drawings, technical submissions, material samples, mock-ups, and design modifications. Ensure proper development of working drawings and construction details before work commences on site. Demonstrate exceptional attention to building details and workmanship. Ensure that details shown on drawings can be properly executed on site. Conduct technical inspections and quality reviews at critical stages of construction. Identify construction defects, poor workmanship, design inconsistencies, and coordination issues. Ensure proper resolution of technical defects before project handover. Establish quality benchmarks and inspection checklists for major construction activities. Promote a culture of "right first time" construction across all projects. Provide technical oversight of major construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure projects remain aligned with approved designs, budgets, specifications, and schedules. Review construction methodologies and advise on appropriate materials, systems, and techniques. Participate in project planning, value engineering, procurement, and contractor selection. Evaluate alternative construction methods and materials to improve cost, quality, durability, and delivery time. Monitor technical progress and provide regular reports to senior management.
