Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO to develop and implement organizational strategies aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and insights to improve operational efficiency and support sustainable organizational growth.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, compliance, and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, systems, and processes that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across departments and ensure performance targets are achieved.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and departments to ensure timely and effective implementation of programmes and projects.
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop teams while maintaining appropriate staffing levels and professional management standards.
  • Work closely with departmental leads and provide regular operational updates and progress reports to the CEO.
  • Work with the Finance team to develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Review financial reports and provide recommendations for cost-effective operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, collaborators, donors, and other strategic contacts.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnership and funding opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Work with the Programmes and Business Development teams to review RFPs and develop proposals for prospective partners and donors.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of existing and prospective donors to support revenue generation and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and communicate operational and project development strategies to ensure delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.
  • Establish systems for measuring organizational impact and prepare regular impact reports.
  • Ensure the organization's communication channels are properly managed, functional, and regularly updated.
  • Coordinate staff performance appraisal processes and ensure effective performance management.
  • Identify operational risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and industry requirements.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of best practices across the organization.
  • Prepare monthly management reports for the CEO and support the consolidation of organizational activities for Board and Board Committee meetings.
  • Take on additional strategic and operational responsibilities as required to support the organization's growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years' progressive professional experience, with significant experience in senior management or operational leadership.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and organizational operations.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning, performance management, budgeting, risk management, and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders, partners, and donors.
  • Experience in proposal development, RFP management, fundraising, or strategic partnerships will be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced organizational environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and strategic thinking.
