Job Overview

The Fleet Manager Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the company's fleet department. This role ensures that Trucks, drivers, and transportation activities are managed efficiently to support smooth logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing fleet operations and logistics activities
  • Monitor vehicle usage, driver performance, and compliance
  • Maintain accurate fleet records and documentation
  • Support vehicle scheduling and dispatching
  • Coordinate with drivers and internal staff to ensure operational efficiency
  • Prepare reports on fleet activities and performance
  • Follow up on vehicle repairs and maintenance schedules
  • Contribute to the smooth running of daily fleet operations

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Gender: Male (Preferable)
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 0 - 2 years, strictly within logistics, transport, freight forwarding, or supply chain.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • High resilience, adaptability, and readiness to handle operational emergencies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Follow up on vehicle breakdowns, accidents, repairs, and other fleet-related incidents and escalate where necessary. Monitor fuel consumption and identify unusual usage or opportunities for cost reduction. Support the development and implementation of fleet maintenance and replacement plans. Liaise with workshops, service providers, insurance companies, and other external fleet vendors. Prepare regular reports on fleet availability, maintenance, utilisation, fuel consumption, costs, and incidents. Assist in enforcing safe driving practices and promoting vehicle and driver safety. Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements to fleet efficiency and cost management. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Management. Key Performance Indicators Fleet availability and vehicle uptime. Timely completion of preventive maintenance. Reduction in vehicle breakdowns and downtime. Efficient fuel consumption and fleet cost management. Compliance with vehicle documentation and regulatory requirements. Driver compliance with safety and fleet policies. Accurate and timely fleet reporting. Effective vehicle utilisation. Requirements Bachelor's Degree or HND in Transport Management, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience in fleet management, transportation, logistics, or a related role. Experience managing commercial or operational vehicles will be an advantage. Experience in FMCG, agriculture, poultry, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment is desirable. Required Skills and Competencies Strong fleet and transportation management skills. Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance practices. Strong planning, coordination, and follow-up skills. Good knowledge of fleet tracking and monitoring systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools. trong communication and interpersonal skills. Cost-conscious and detail-oriented. Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational challenges.
