We are seeking a hands-on and detail-orientedAccountantwith3 - 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally gained within alaw firm or professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities for the firm.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and reconciliations.
Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses and general ledger transactions.
Prepare invoices and monitor client receivables and outstanding balances.
Track client-related payments, disbursements and expenses accurately.
Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations.
Support monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
Assist with cash-flow monitoring, budgeting and financial analysis.
Maintain proper documentation and records for all financial transactions.
Support tax, statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.
Liaise with partners, lawyers, clients, vendors and external accountants/auditors where required.
Assist with audit preparation and respond to accounting queries.
Ensure compliance with the firm's internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
Identify discrepancies, investigate issues and ensure timely resolution.
Provide financial information and reports to management as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
3 - 5 years' accounting experience.
Experience working in a law firm is strongly preferred.
Experience in a professional services environment will also be considered.
