Employee Journeys

Milestone-based programs for onboarding, growth, retention, and performance
Assigning and Tracking a Journey

Journeys are managed from the Journeys area by Admin and HR. Journey requires the Journey capability (platform.journey), included on Basic/Starter and above and in Careersome Light.

Assigning a Journey (Admin/HR)

  1. Browse templates for the program type you want (onboarding, growth, retention, or performance). You can use a standard template or a fork your company has customized.
  2. Optionally fork and edit a template first to tailor its checkpoints to your organization.
  3. Assign the template to a specific employee. Assigning creates that employee's milestones with due dates.

Tracking progress

  • Open the assignment detail view to see each checkpoint's state: complete, upcoming, overdue, or at risk
  • Admin/HR can see assignments and progress company-wide; the snapshot summarizes today's due items and active Journeys
  • Managers can see progress for their direct reports, including manager-only risk flags and AI signals
  • Employees see and complete their own checkpoints

Completing checkpoints Employees mark their own checkpoints complete as they reach them, which moves their progress forward.

Cancelling an assignment If a program is no longer relevant (for example, the employee changed roles), Admin/HR can cancel the assignment.

Good practice

  • Fork and customize a template before assigning if the standard checkpoints do not fit
  • Keep reporting managers accurate, since manager tracking is scoped to direct reports
  • Cancel assignments that are no longer relevant so dashboards stay clean
