Job Summary

  • The Upper Elementary Montessori Directress will direct learners' activities academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment, supporting each child to reach his/her fullest potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori philosophy and procedures. The successful candidate will lead the preparation of the learning environments in the classroom, safety initiatives, and communication with parents.
  • This is a temporary position, with the possibility of permanent employment upon successful completion of the contract, subject to the candidate's performance review.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or a post-graduate degree in Education, with knowledge of Montessori philosophy preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience, with at least 2 years managing a Montessori classroom.
  • Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria - TRCN.
  • Montessori Elementary diploma from a MACTE accredited programme for specified grade level is an added advantage.
  • Recent involvement and experience in Special Education Needs and Inclusion is an added advantage.
  • Sound understanding of Montessori philosophy and methods of instruction is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of educational trends, best practices, and innovative teaching methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with learners, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Exceptional organisational and decision-making abilities.
  • A commitment to promoting academic excellence, equity, and the overall well-being of learners.
