Monitor customer transactions through the Bank's Transaction Monitoring System and other relevant platforms to identify unusual or potentially suspicious activities.
Review, analyze, and investigate alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system and other monitoring platforms in a timely and risk-based manner.
Ensure all alerts are appropriately assessed, documented, and resolved within established service level timelines.
Escalate high-risk, complex, or unusual cases to the Team Lead for further review and guidance.
Maintain comprehensive records of investigations, findings, actions taken, and recommendations.
Receive, review, and assess suspicious transaction alerts, referrals, and escalations from branches, business units, and control functions across the Bank.
Conduct thorough investigations using available customer information, account records, transaction histories, KYC documentation, and other relevant sources of information.
Identify potential indicators of money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions violations, proliferation financing, and other financial crimes.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders to obtain additional information required to support investigations.
Prepare and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) through the NFIU goAML platform within prescribed regulatory timelines.
Ensure all STRs are accurate, comprehensive, adequately supported by evidence, and clearly articulate the basis for suspicion.
Maintain strict confidentiality of STRs, investigations, and related information in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and the Bank's policies.
Ensure proper documentation, retention, and safekeeping of STR-related records and supporting evidence.
Review and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with the NFIU in respect of customers' requests for partial or total name changes, where required.
Review NFIU approvals relating to customers' requests for total name changes and ensure appropriate implementation in line with regulatory requirements and approved internal procedures.
