Motor Risk Assessment & Underwriting: Evaluate and underwrite motor insurance risks end-to-end, considering vehicle type, usage, driver profile, claims history, and other relevant risk factors, while determining appropriate premiums in line with the Company's risk appetite and underwriting guidelines.
Policy Administration & Documentation: Manage the complete policy lifecycle, including policy inception, debiting, quotations, issuance of motor certificates and policy documents, endorsements, and co-insurance schedules, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Risk Management & Compliance: Protect the Company's motor portfolio by identifying and mitigating potential risks and losses, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Company policies, underwriting guidelines, and industry standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date underwriting records.
Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, coach, and develop the Motor Underwriting team, conduct periodic performance evaluations, and collaborate with Claims, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless underwriting operations.
Qualifications & Experience
A good first degree from a reputable institution; a master's degree will be an added advantage.
CIIN qualification is required; other relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
Extensive knowledge and experience in motor insurance underwriting, including risk assessment, policy inception, documentation, and endorsements.
Sound understanding of motor insurance products, industry regulations, and market trends.
6 - 9 years' relevant experience, including at 4 years in Motor Underwriting, within the insurance industry.
Technology
Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with underwriting software and insurance management systems.
