Overview

  • Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Associate to support tax compliance, tax computations, audits, research, and engagements with tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other statutory tax returns.
  • Prepare tax computations, schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Support tax audits and investigations with FIRS, LIRS, and other tax authorities.
  • Respond to tax queries and assist with assessments.
  • Conduct tax research and support tax advisory activities.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and monitor compliance deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' relevant tax experience.
  • Experience with FIRS/LIRS and TaxProMax.
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian tax laws.
  • ICAN, ACCA, or CITN qualification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Regulatory Liaison: Liaise with FIRS on federal tax matters and with LIRS (or other relevant state IRS) on state tax matters. Coordinate with external tax consultants for correct interpretation and application of tax regulations. Audit Coordination: Prepare and provide documentation during FIRS and LIRS tax audits. Support the annual statutory financial audit by preparing necessary tax schedules, reconciliations, and compliance documentation. Report Submission: Submit VAT reports - Monthly Submit PAYE reports - Monthly Submit Tax Statistics Reports - Monthly. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. ICAN, ACCA, or CITN certification is highly desirable.
