Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor live CCTV feeds from all camera locations across Jamub Group sites, ensuring uninterrupted surveillance coverage throughout each shift.
  • Observe and identify unusual, suspicious, or unsafe activity across monitored locations, including unauthorised access, theft, safety breaches, and operational irregularities.
  • Promptly report any incident, security breach, or anomaly to the Head of ICT and relevant on-site personnel (security, facility, or department heads) following the Group's incident escalation procedure.
  • Compile clear, accurate, and timely shift handover reports and incident reports, capturing time, location, camera reference, description of the event, and action taken.
  • Maintain a daily monitoring log and incident register for each site, ensuring records are complete, consistent, and retained in line with the Group's data retention policy.
  • Conduct routine checks of camera functionality, recording status, storage capacity, and video quality; promptly report any camera downtime, blind spots, or equipment faults to ICT for corrective action.
  • Support the retrieval and preservation of CCTV footage requested for investigations, audits, or disciplinary proceedings, following proper chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Take ownership of any errors, missed observations, or lapses in monitoring; report them honestly and promptly rather than concealing them, and cooperate fully in any post-incident review.
  • Escalate technical faults with cameras, recorders (DVR/NVR), network connectivity, or the control room monitoring system to the Head of ICT without delay.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all footage and monitoring data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and Jamub Group's data protection policies; footage must never be copied, shared, or discussed outside authorised channels.
  • Coordinate with on-site security personnel and department heads to verify incidents in real time and support an effective response.
  • Ensure proper handover of ongoing observations, open incidents, and equipment status at the end of each shift to the incoming officer.
  • Comply with all control room access protocols, ensuring only authorised personnel enter the monitoring room.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head of ICT.

Identify recurring security trends, blind spots, procedural breaches, HSE violations, unsafe behaviours, access control gaps, and operational vulnerabilities for management attention and corrective action. Document daily footage review findings accurately and preserve relevant recordings for audit, investigation, incident review, and performance improvement purposes. Prepare clear, factual, and timely incident reports, surveillance logs, occurrence reports, and escalation notes covering observed security, safety, and operational events. Support emergency response by providing real-time surveillance information to the Security Supervisor, HSE team, emergency response team, operations personnel, and other authorized stakeholders during incidents. Monitor designated Permit-to-Work areas, including hot work, confined space entry, electrical isolation, excavation, working at height, lifting operations, and other high-risk activities where CCTV coverage is available. Monitor vehicle entry and exit points, loading and unloading areas, parking zones, dispatch locations, and other covered areas to support journey management and asset protection processes. Conduct routine operational checks on CCTV cameras, monitors, recording devices, storage systems, network video recorders, access control interfaces, alarm panels, and related security equipment. Maintain equipment inspection records and support preventive maintenance activities by liaising with approved vendors, maintenance teams, IT support, and security leadership when required. Prepare periodic surveillance and security performance reports showing incidents, trends, recurring issues, response quality, system availability, HSE observations, access control concerns, and recommended improvements. Required Qualifications Minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor's degree in Security management, Criminology, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or related discipline. Professional certifications in CCTV operations, security management, access control, HSE, first aid, emergency response, or recognized security training are advantageous. Experience in the oil and gas, energy services, industrial, logistics, manufacturing, marine, base operations, or corporate security environment is an added advantage.
