- The Supply and Demand Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and uninterrupted flow of materials to support production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels across the organization.
- The role leads Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) engagements across all plants and oversees demand planning, supply planning, production planning, and inventory management for Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), and Finished Goods (FG).
Key Responsibilities
Demand, Supply & Production Planning:
- Lead monthly demand review and S&OP meetings while managing the demand forecasting and supply planning process to align customer demand, production capacity, and inventory targets.
- Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts, production plans, and replenishment schedules using historical data, market intelligence, and validated demand drivers.
- Translate approved demand forecasts and inventory strategies into executable supply plans for internal manufacturing sites and third-party manufacturers.
Inventory Management & Optimization:
- Monitor and control RM, PM, and FG inventory levels in line with safety stock targets to minimize stock-outs, expiries, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Provide visibility on inventory risks and opportunities, including support for new product launches, phase-outs, and constrained items.
- Ensure inventory and data accuracy by validating AWC, BOM integrity, master data, and supporting periodic stock counts and reconciliations.
Material Planning & Order Management:
- Plan and schedule material supply to meet approved production plans while managing daily order planning and delivery performance.
- Proactively monitor material availability, follow up on shortages, and implement mitigation actions to protect production schedules.
- Collaborate with Direct Procurement to optimize inbound material flow and align volume requirements with planning assumptions.
Risk Management, Systems & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify, assess, and communicate supply chain risks, constraints, and mitigation plans while ensuring clear documentation and escalation where required.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Production, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Projects, Customer Service, and Provider Engagement teams to align plans and execution.
- Drive continuous improvement by optimizing ERP/MRP usage, maintaining data integrity, and enhancing demand review, supply review, and Sales and Operations Planning S&OP processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Economics and Statistics
- Professional certification preferred: CIPS and CIPM
- An advanced degree (MBA, MSc in Supply Chain Management) is desirable.
- Minimum of 5-10years' experience in production planning
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as excellent communication and presentation.
- Experience in Pharmaceuticals or FMCG will be an added advantage
