Key Responsibilities

Electrical design verification & execution:

  • Review, interpret, and validate electrical design drawings, schematics, and load calculations to ensure full alignment with project scope and architectural aesthetics.
  • Oversee the complete on-site installation of electrical wiring, conduits, panelboards, switchgears, and power distribution systems across all luxury units and estate common areas.

Smart home & modern systems integration:

  • Supervise the installation and integration of advanced smart home automation systems, including motorized shading, intelligent lighting control, access control, and home security infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with specialized vendors to ensure seamless connectivity between HVAC systems, home automation hubs, and luxury electrical fittings.

Power backup & renewable energy systems:

  • Direct the setup, testing, and commissioning of heavy-duty industrial generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and central uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems.
  • Oversee the installation of solar power setups and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to guarantee efficient, zero-downtime energy management for residents.

Quality assurance & compliance:

  • Conduct rigorous pre-installation and post-installation inspections to ensure all work meets national electrical codes, international standards, and Popville's luxury finishing benchmarks.
  • Enforce strict testing proceduresincluding insulation resistance, load balancing, earthing continuity, and thermal imagingprior to final project handover.

Contractor & MEP coordination:

  • Manage and supervise specialized electrical subcontractors, electricians, and technicians to keep works on schedule and within technical specifications.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, structural, and plumbing teams to prevent physical utility conflicts and ensure neat concealed conduit pathways.

Resource & inventory management:

  • Audit and verify all incoming electrical materials, cables, breaker panels, and fixtures to guarantee only approved, high-spec, and non-counterfeit components are installed.
  • Monitor material usage on-site to minimize cable and component wastage while maintaining optimal inventory levels for active construction phases.

Site safety & hazard prevention:

  • Enforce stringent electrical safety protocols across all job sites to protect site workers from live-voltage hazards, arc flashes, and equipment accidents.
  • Establish clear lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during testing and commissioning phases to maintain an accident-free environment.

Technical documentation & as-built drawings:

  • Maintain accurate daily work logs, inspection reports, and load schedules for submission to project management.
  • Prepare comprehensive as-built electrical drawings and operations/maintenance manuals for final client handovers and facility management teams.

Innovation & energy efficiency:

  • Research and recommend energy-efficient electrical technologies, modern LED systems, and green energy solutions to elevate Popville's luxury market positioning.
  • Implement surge protection and power conditioning strategies to protect sensitive client electronics and luxury appliances.

Ethical standards & brand representation:

  • Uphold Popville's premium image by maintaining absolute professionalism, technical integrity, and transparency in all site operations and vendor interactions.
  • Ensure all installed systems deliver maximum safety, durability, and operational excellence for Popville's elite homeowners.

Project Management Support Serve as the Company's resident site electrical engineer for both Special Projects and Facilities Management works. Provide technical guidance on construction methods, sequencing, and best-practice execution approaches. Verify that completed works conform strictly to approved-for-construction drawings prior to signing off. Carry out periodic reviews of electrical drawings and ensure timely updates as required throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that all as-built drawings for Company facilities are accurately completed, filed, and maintained. Standards, Compliance & Documentation Ensure all electrical project deliverables conform to COMPANY internal specifications and applicable industry best practices. Maintain a comprehensive and current record of all electrical drawings, specifications, and technical references for Company facilities. Support the development and continuous improvement of electrical standards and procedures within the Facilities Management QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Registration with the Council for Regulation of Engineering Council is mandatory. Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) or an equivalent professional body is an advantage. Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification work experience in an engineering consultancy or a comparable corporate environment. Demonstrated experience managing the full electrical deliverables lifecycle of major construction and infrastructure projects. Prior experience working within an oil and gas, energy, or large corporate multi-site environment is highly desirable. Proven ability to supervise construction works and manage contractor relationships on-site. Technical Competencies Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of additional design and BIM software platforms is an advantage. Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, and electrical design interfaces and their integration with architectural works. Thorough knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and quality control procedures applicable in Nigeria and relevant international frameworks. Competence in the preparation and review of technical specifications, bills of quantities, and contract drawings.
