Job Description

  • The Regulatory Manager is responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance of Olam Agri's animal feed products across manufacturing, sourcing, import/export, labeling, and commercialization. The role acts as the key regulatory interface between internal stakeholders (Operations, QA, R&D, Sales) and external authorities, proactively managing regulatory risks while supporting business growth.

Key Deliverables

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with local, regional, and international animal feed regulations (e.g. Nigeria NAFDAC, SON, EC, FDA, Codex, GMP+, FAMI-QS).
  • Interpret new and existing regulations affecting animal feed ingredients, additives, premixes, and finished feed products.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain regulatory compliance frameworks, SOPs, and internal policies.

Product Registration & Approvals

  • Lead product registrations, licenses, and renewals for animal feed products and raw materials.
  • Coordinate regulatory submissions, dossiers, technical documentation, and certificates.
  • Manage ingredient approvals, feed additive compliance, and permissible usage levels.

Strategic Effectiveness

Regulatory Intelligence & Risk Management

  • Monitor regulatory changes, emerging risks, and enforcement trends relevant to animal nutrition.
  • Conduct regulatory risk assessments and advise leadership on business impact and mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively influence product formulation and sourcing decisions to ensure compliance.

External Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and certification agencies.
  • Represent Olam Agri in regulatory forums, audits, inspections, and industry working groups.
  • Support regulatory audits and corrective action plans.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Quality Assurance, R&D, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Sales.
  • Provide regulatory guidance during product development, supplier onboarding, and market entry.
  • Support customer regulatory inquiries, tenders, and technical documentation requests.

Training & Capability Building

  • Build regulatory awareness across the organization through training and guidance.
  • Support internal audits and compliance culture across feed mills and commercial teams.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Nutrition, Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline
  • Master's degree or professional certification is an advantage

Experience

  • 5 - 7+ years of regulatory or quality/regulatory experience in animal feed, FMCG, food, or agricommodities
  • Strong familiarity with feed regulations, additives, labeling, and import/export rules
  • Experience working with manufacturing plants and multicountry regulatory frameworks
  • Prior experience in large multinational or commodity/agri-business preferred
