To provide safe, accurate, and timely radiographic imaging services to support diagnosis and patient management, while ensuring proper operation of radiology equipment, radiation safety, quality standards, and compliance with professional and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform radiographic examinations and imaging procedures as requested by authorized medical practitioners.
Prepare patients for examinations and provide appropriate instructions and support throughout procedures.
Operate, monitor, and maintain radiographic and imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Ensure accurate positioning, image acquisition, processing, and quality of diagnostic images.
Apply appropriate radiation protection and safety measures for patients, staff, and visitors.
Review images for technical quality and repeat examinations where clinically and technically necessary.
Maintain accurate records of examinations, patient information, and imaging results.
Monitor equipment performance and promptly report faults, defects, and maintenance requirements.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of radiographic equipment and materials.
Comply with approved radiology procedures, infection prevention measures, HSE requirements, and professional standards.
Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold high ethical and professional standards.
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support effective patient care.
Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and continuous professional development.
Provide radiographic services during emergencies and outside normal working hours when required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the appropriate medical supervisor.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in radiography or equivalent recognized qualification.
Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in a reputable healthcare institution.
Mandatory registration with the relevant Radiographers Registration Board.
Possession of a current and valid practice license.
Strong radiographic imaging and equipment operation skills.
Good knowledge of radiation protection and patient safety.
Strong attention to detail and image quality assessment.
Good patient care and communication skills.
Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
