Role Description

  • This is a full-time hybrid role for a QA Engineer, based in Lagos. As we approach launch, quality is non-negotiable real money moves through our platform, and a bug in a bet slip, wallet, or cash-out flow is a customer trust problem, not just a defect. You'll own testing across our web, mobile, and backend systems, building automated coverage for the flows that matter most: registration and KYC, deposits and withdrawals, bet placement and settlement, copy-betting, and our social features. This is a hands-on role for someone who thinks adversarially about software, sweats edge cases, and takes pride in being the last line of defence before code reaches customers.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites across API, web (React/Next.js), and mobile (React Native) surfaces
  • Own end-to-end test coverage for critical money flows deposits, withdrawals, bet placement, settlement, cash-out, and bonus crediting
  • Test real-time and event-driven behaviour, including live odds updates, in-play betting, and copy-bet execution
  • Build and manage test environments and test data, including simulating sportsbook events and settlement scenarios
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates on releases
  • Perform exploratory, regression, and release testing ahead of each deployment
  • Reproduce, document, and triage bugs with clear severity assessment and detailed reproduction steps
  • Verify fixes and drive defects to closure with engineering
  • Test under real-world Nigerian conditions flaky networks, low-end Android devices, and interrupted sessions
  • Contribute to load and performance testing for peak traffic events (major football fixtures, promotions)

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of QA/test engineering experience, with at least 2 years in test automation
  • Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium
  • Experience testing REST APIs and backend services (Postman, REST-assured, or code-based API testing)
  • Solid understanding of SQL and the ability to validate data directly in PostgreSQL
  • Experience testing mobile applications on Android and iOS, including real-device testing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) and integrating tests into them
  • A structured, methodical approach to test planning, case design, and defect management
  • Serious attention to detail and the persistence to chase intermittent bugs to root cause
  • Clear written communication your bug reports should leave no room for interpretation
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing betting, gaming, fintech, or other high-transaction-volume platforms
  • Familiarity with wallet, payment gateway, or KYC integration testing
  • Exposure to performance/load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Gatling)
  • Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka or similar) and testing asynchronous flows
  • Scripting ability in C#, TypeScript, or Python for building test tooling
  • ISTQB or equivalent testing certification
