We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimize daily production activities within our plastic manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities.
Ensure production targets are achieved within approved timelines and resource requirements.
Monitor production output, machine efficiency, capacity utilization, downtime, waste, and material consumption.
Develop production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and available capacity.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials, and other production resources.
Monitor the performance and availability of production machinery and coordinate with the Maintenance Team on breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
Monitor production costs and implement measures to reduce waste and unnecessary expenditure.
Ensure adherence to approved production processes, quality standards, and specifications.
Work closely with Quality Control to identify and resolve product defects and production variances.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
Supervise production personnel and ensure effective manpower deployment.
Monitor employee attendance, productivity, discipline, and performance within the production unit.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Analyze production data and provide recommendations for improving productivity and operational efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production facility.
Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, Sales, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
5 - 8 years of relevant production/manufacturing experience.
Proven experience managing production teams within a manufacturing environment.
Practical knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion, or related processes.
Strong understanding of production planning, machine utilization, quality control, and waste reduction.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
Experience using ERP/manufacturing systems and production reporting tools is an advantage.
