Job Summary

  • We are seeking a technically competent and results-driven Process Engineer to optimize production processes, improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, HSE, and other departments to identify process improvement opportunities, troubleshoot operational challenges, implement engineering solutions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, losses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient process operating procedures and standards.
  • Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Optimize production processes to improve productivity, yield, product quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Investigate process deviations, equipment-related process issues, and production losses and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Work with Production and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot recurring process problems.
  • Support the introduction, modification, and commissioning of production processes and equipment.
  • Develop and update process flow diagrams, process specifications, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct process studies, trials, tests, and improvement projects as required.
  • Monitor process parameters and ensure they remain within approved operating limits.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce raw material consumption, energy usage, waste, downtime, and production costs.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to investigate product quality issues and implement process-based corrective actions.
  • Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure process changes are properly evaluated, documented, approved, and implemented.
  • Participate in the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process controls.
  • Assist in capacity planning, production optimization, and evaluation of process constraints.
  • Monitor compliance with operational, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure process improvement activities do not compromise product quality or HSE standards.
  • Train and provide technical guidance to production personnel on process improvements and operating procedures.
  • Prepare process performance reports, improvement reports, and technical presentations for management.
  • Participate in equipment and process commissioning, validation, and performance assessments where required.
  • Stay informed about relevant process engineering technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
  • Perform any other engineering duties assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or process industry environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, process control, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze production data and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant engineering/data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of process simulation or engineering software is an advantage.
  • Relevant professional or technical certifications will be an added advantage.
