The Medical Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling medical products, devices, or pharmaceuticals to healthcare providers, hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities within an assigned territory. This role builds and maintains strong relationships with physicians, nurses, and procurement staff while meeting sales targets and staying current on clinical knowledge and industry regulations.
Key Performance Areas:
Product Promotion & Sales
Present, promote, and sell company products (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or clinical equipment) to healthcare professionals.
Schedule and conduct meetings, clinical presentations, product demonstrations, and in-service training for healthcare staff - doctors, nurses, and purchasing managers.
Achieve or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets within designated territories.
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management
Develop and execute a territory sales plan to meet or exceed sales targets and quotas
Stay current on product knowledge, clinical data, and competitor offerings
Relationship & Account Management
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decisionmakers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), doctors, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, and procurement teams.
Provide continuous customer support, addressing inquiries regarding product quality and reliability, side effects, device operations, after-sales, installation and maintenance, etc.
Attend medical conferences, trade shows, and industry events to network and generate leads
Market Research & Intelligence
Monitor competitor products, pricing strategies, market trends, and industry developments.
Identify new business opportunities and expansion possibilities within assigned clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and prospective clients within the territory.
Compliance & Administration
Ensure all sales activities comply with healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and local pharmaceutical guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of sales calls, orders, customer feedback, and expenses using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot or Veeva).
Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and medical exhibitions to expand network contacts.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience and Skills Required:
1 - 3 years of sales experience, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sales (fresh graduates with science backgrounds are encouraged to apply).
