To provide comprehensive medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services to employees, dependents, retirees, and authorized personnel, while supporting the effective delivery of Lagos Medical Division activities, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards, and maintaining high-quality, confidential patient care under the supervision of the Senior Medical Officer.
Responsibilities
Provide medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to employees, dependents, retirees, and authorized contracted personnel.
Conduct regular clinical reviews and twice-daily ward rounds for in-house hospitalized patients.
Assess patients and determine appropriate treatment, referral, or further specialist intervention based on clinical needs and international medical standards.
Refer patients requiring specialized care to approved external clinics, hospitals, and medical specialists.
Monitor and follow up on referred patients to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Maintain regular communication and professional relationships with external specialists and referral centres.
Provide health counselling, medical advice, and patient education on relevant health matters.
Conduct annual medical examinations and reviews for spouses, retirees, and retiree spouses.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
Prepare and submit accurate monthly reports on medical activities, consultations, referrals, and patient care to the Lagos Senior Medical Officer.
Participate actively in Lagos Medical Division management meetings, healthcare planning, programmes, and other medical activities.
Collaborate with other medical professionals and support effective coordination of healthcare services.
Ensure all medical practices comply with the requirements of the Medical and Dental Council and other relevant regulatory authorities.
Maintain high professional, ethical, and clinical standards in the delivery of medical services.
Protect patient confidentiality and ensure the accuracy of medical reports and clinical documentation.
Perform other medical and ancillary duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or Senior Medical Officer.
Support compliance with company policies, procedures, rules, and healthcare standards.
Job Requirements
MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).
Minimum of 8 years' post-qualification clinical experience.
Relevant experience in Emergency Medicine.
Current registration and valid practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Up-to-date knowledge of global medical trends, healthcare practices, and emerging medical issues.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, and emergency management skills.
Excellent patient care and decision-making abilities.
Good knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and international medical standards.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and counselling skills.
