  • We are seeking an experienced Marine Maintenance Planner - FPSO Operations to support the safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of FPSO marine, hull, and associated topside systems.
  • The Marine Maintenance Planner will be responsible for coordinating, planning, scheduling, and optimizing preventive, corrective, condition-based, and statutory maintenance activities while ensuring asset integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness.
  • The role requires strong marine engineering knowledge, practical experience in offshore/FPSO operations, and a solid understanding of Classification Society and statutory requirements, including BV, DNV, ABS, or equivalent standards.
  • Candidates with a background as a Marine Engineer Officer or Chief Engineer Officer are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Marine & Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical expertise and maintenance planning support for FPSO marine systems, including:
  • Hull structures
  • Ballast systems
  • Cargo systems
  • Seawater systems
  • Marine utilities
  • Lifesaving equipment
  • Marine safety systems
  • Provide technical guidance to offshore operations and maintenance teams to support safe and effective maintenance execution.
  • Support Asset Integrity Management activities through effective maintenance and inspection planning.
  • Ensure maintenance strategies and plans are aligned with operational requirements and industry best practices.

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously optimize maintenance strategies for FPSO marine, hull, and associated topside systems.
  • Plan and schedule preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities using SAP PM or equivalent CMMS platforms.
  • Review, challenge, validate, and prepare maintenance work orders, job plans, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Develop detailed maintenance work packs covering:
  • Scope of work
  • Manpower requirements
  • Materials and spare parts
  • Special tools and equipment
  • Permit requirements
  • Isolation requirements
  • Scaffolding and access requirements
  • Estimated execution duration
  • Ensure maintenance activities meet all readiness criteria prior to offshore execution.
  • Develop and maintain 30-day, 90-day, and annual maintenance look-ahead plans.
  • Coordinate campaign-based maintenance, major inspection programs, and shutdown preparation activities.
  • Align maintenance activities with operational priorities to maximize equipment reliability and FPSO availability.

Marine Certification & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Coordinate marine certification activities and ensure compliance with applicable Classification Society and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor certification cycles and ensure timely preparation, execution, and submission of required documentation and deliverables.
  • Liaise with BV, DNV, ABS, or other applicable Classification Societies, as well as Flag State authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Support compliance with applicable requirements, including:
  • SOLAS
  • MARPOL
  • ISM Code
  • NUPRC requirements
  • NCDMB requirements
  • Applicable offshore and marine regulations
  • Coordinate preparation and follow-up activities associated with Class surveys, statutory inspections, and certification renewals.

Asset Integrity & Inspection Coordination:

  • Plan and coordinate marine inspection campaigns, including:
  • Underwater hull inspections and surveys
  • Hull thickness measurements
  • Structural integrity inspections
  • Lifting equipment inspections
  • Lifeboat inspections and testing
  • Marine safety equipment inspections
  • Ensure inspection findings are accurately documented, assessed, prioritized, and incorporated into maintenance plans.
  • Monitor and coordinate the close-out of integrity-related corrective actions, recommendations, and inspection findings.
  • Support the identification and management of safety-critical and integrity-critical equipment.

Materials & Logistics Coordination:

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and offshore teams to ensure timely availability of:
  • Critical spares
  • Materials
  • Consumables
  • Specialist services
  • Review and optimize Bills of Materials (BOMs), spare parts strategies, and stock levels for marine systems.
  • Support critical spares management and material preservation programs.
  • Monitor material readiness and proactively address potential supply or logistics constraints that could delay maintenance execution.

CMMS & Maintenance Data Management:

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of SAP PM master data, including:
  • Equipment hierarchies
  • Maintenance plans
  • Task lists
  • Bills of Materials
  • Maintenance history
  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning processes and CMMS data quality.
  • Support maintenance reporting, data analysis, and performance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance effectiveness through data-driven analysis and better planning practices.

Performance Management & Reporting:

  • Monitor and report key maintenance and asset performance indicators, including:
  • Equipment reliability
  • Schedule compliance
  • Maintenance backlog
  • Downtime
  • Certification status
  • Asset integrity performance
  • Support maintenance stewardship meetings, operational audits, and management reporting.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to reliability, maintenance optimization, and overall asset performance initiatives.
  • Support the training and development of maintenance personnel through technical knowledge sharing, coaching, and mentoring.

HSE & Compliance:

  • Ensure all planned maintenance activities comply with Company HSE policies, Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements, and offshore safety management systems.
  • Participate in risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and lessons-learned activities.
  • Ensure maintenance plans adequately address safety-critical and environmentally critical equipment requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through effective maintenance planning, preparation, and execution.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Marine Engineer Officer certification is highly desirable.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore, FPSO, marine, or oil and gas operations.
  • Previous experience as a Marine Engineer Officer or Chief Engineer Officer is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and coordination within an FPSO or offshore production environment.
  • Proven experience supporting marine certification activities, Class renewal surveys, and offshore inspection campaigns.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance-related materials, logistics, and specialist services.

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of FPSO marine, hull, utility, and associated topside systems.
  • Proficiency in SAP PM.
  • Experience with IPES, Maximo, or other CMMS platforms is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning methodologies, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, condition monitoring, and asset integrity management.
  • Familiarity with Classification Society requirements and marine certification processes.
  • Good understanding of relevant marine regulations and standards, including SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, NUPRC, and NCDMB requirements.
  • Strong understanding of offshore maintenance planning, work preparation, materials management, and execution readiness.
