Cutting and preparing various materials for machining and welding.
Operate multiple types of machinery and equipment throughout the Welding department and perform various tasks in accordance with approved quality standards.
Executing welding projects.
Analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements.
Reviewing welding procedures, processes, and documentation.
Generating welding procedures to help the assembly and welding teams.
Conducting failure analyses and cause analyses on welding issues.
Perform welding and fabrication of valve bodies, bonnets and associated components where approved.
Carry out valve modifications and machining repairs as instructed.
Person Specifications/Qualifications
Minimum of OND / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Welding & Fabrication or related discipline.
Trade Test, City & Guilds or relevant welding/machining certification is an advantage.
Minimum of 3 years industrial welding experience.
Competent in SMAW (Arc), GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding processes.
Ability to learn to set-up, run and troubleshoot all welding equipment in a safe manner
Ability to read and interpret measuring devices, drawings and blueprints and the ability to display a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Practical machining and welding experience on industrial valves and valve components.
Experience operating manual lathe, milling, drilling and grinding machines.
Strong organizational skills.
Computer literate.
Experience in industrial valve repair is an added advantage.
