Job Summary

  • The Logistics Supervisor (FMCG) will oversee the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of finished goods and raw materials across the company's FMCG product lines (edible oils, bottled water, animal feeds, breakfast cereals, seasoning cubes, etc.).
  • The role involves fleet management, dispatch coordination, route planning, warehouse liaison, and ensuring timely deliveries to customers and distributors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily logistics operations including dispatch, transportation, and fleet management
  • Plan and optimize delivery routes to reduce fuel costs and transit time
  • Coordinate with warehouse team to ensure accurate and timely order picking and loading
  • Oversee fleet maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are roadworthy
  • Manage drivers and logistics assistants, including shift scheduling and performance monitoring
  • Track incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods deliveries
  • Ensure compliance with all road transport regulations and company safety policies
  • Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle logs, and maintenance records
  • Resolve delivery delays, customer complaints, and transport-related issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate documentation for dispatch, delivery notes, and waybills
  • Prepare daily and monthly logistics reports for management review
  • Negotiate with third-party transporters when additional capacity is needed
  • Ensure proper use of tracking systems and GPS where applicable
  • Monitor loading and offloading activities to prevent product damage or loss
  • Coordinate with sales and production teams to prioritize urgent deliveries

Requirements

  • HND B.Sc in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, fleet management, or supply chain within an FMCG or manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of Nigerian road networks, especially within Ondo, Lagos, Rivers, and surrounding states
  • Experience managing a fleet of trucks or delivery vans
  • Strong organizational and route planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic logistics software
  • Good negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve problems quickly
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
  • Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse processes
  • Valid driver's license is an added advantage.
