We are seeking a competent, responsible, and patient-focused Locum Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure the safe dispensing of medications, and provide professional pharmaceutical care to customers.
The pharmacist will work on a full-time locum basis, with compensation calculated according to the number of hours worked.
Key Responsibilities
Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and safely.
Provide appropriate medication counselling and pharmaceutical advice to customers.
Review prescriptions and identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, or dosage concerns.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation of medicines.
Monitor inventory, expiry dates, and stock levels.
Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Supervise pharmacy assistants and other pharmacy personnel where applicable.
Ensure the pharmacy maintains high standards of cleanliness, professionalism, and customer service.
Report medication, stock, or operational issues to Management promptly.
Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Pharm.D from a recognized institution.
Current Pharmacist registration/licence with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Previous experience in a retail/community pharmacy is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of prescription handling, dispensing, and medication counselling.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage pharmacy operations effectively.
