The Liability Generation Manager will be responsible for driving the Bank's deposit mobilization strategy and growing its liability portfolio by acquiring and managing high-value individual, corporate, SME, institutional, and public sector relationships. The role requires a highly driven business development professional who can consistently deliver funding targets, build strategic partnerships, and lead initiatives that enhance customer acquisition, retention, and portfolio growth.
- The ideal candidate must possess strong sales, relationship management, negotiation, and business development skills with a proven record of mobilizing deposits within the banking or financial services industry.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve assigned liability generation and deposit mobilization targets.
- Identify, acquire, and onboard new high-value customers across retail, SME, corporate, institutional, and public sector segments.
- Grow and manage a sustainable liability portfolio while ensuring strong customer retention.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Drive business development initiatives to increase low-cost and stable deposits.
- Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels to expand the Bank's deposit base.
- Conduct regular client visits, presentations, and business meetings to generate new business.
- Cross-sell the Bank's products and services to deepen customer relationships and increase wallet share.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer needs to develop effective acquisition strategies.
- Prepare and present periodic sales performance, pipeline, and portfolio reports.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, operational, and internal policies in customer acquisition and account management.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in liability generation, deposit mobilization, relationship management, business development, or sales within a commercial bank, microfinance bank, fintech, or other financial institution.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding deposit mobilization targets.
- Strong network of HNI, SME, corporate, and institutional clients.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong understanding of banking products, treasury deposits, and liability management.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering aggressive business targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
