Required Qualifications & Experience

  • The successful candidate will support the finance function through accurate financial record-keeping, data analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and administrative support.
  • This role is ideal for a motivated finance professional with foundational accounting knowledge, strong Excel capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate a high level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
    • Maintain, update, and monitor daily financial spreadsheets, records, and trackers.
    • Assist with bookkeeping activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
    • Support the preparation and processing of monthly financial reports and schedules.
    • Extract, organize, and analyze financial data for reporting and management decision-making.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of financial records.
    • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes where required.
    • Track expenses, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
    • Prepare ad hoc financial reports, summaries, and analysis as assigned.
    • Support audits, compliance checks, and internal finance reviews.
    • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, procedures, and controls.
    • Provide administrative and project support to the finance team as needed.
    • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
    • Professional certification or ongoing certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
    • 2 - 4 years’ relevant experience in a finance, accounting, or analyst role.
    • Experience working within a nonprofit, social impact, consulting, or development-focused organisation is an added advantage.
    • Prior experience using accounting software is preferred.
    • Sound understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and other basic formulas.
    • Proficiency in accounting tools and financial management software.
    • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
    • Adaptability and willingness to support a growing and evolving organisation.
