POSITION SUMMARY

The Job Controller role is responsible for coordinating workshop activities, ensuring jobs are scheduled efficiently. completed on time, and delivered to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and monitor all workshop job cards from booking through to completion.
  • Schedule and allocate repair and maintenance work to technicians based on skills and workload.
  • Track job progress and ensure deadlines and service level agreements are met.
  • Liaise with service advisor regarding vehicle status, repair updates, and completion timelines.
  • Coordinate with parts departments to ensure timely availability of required parts and materials.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of repairs, labour hours, and workshop activities.
  • Monitor workshop productivity and report on performance metrics.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, health and safety regulations, and manufacturer standards.
  • Resolve operational issues and escalate concerns as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 Years of proven experience working within a dealership, fleet maintenance operation, or independent automotive workshop.
  • Proficiency in workshop management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • OND, HND or B.Sc. in Automotive Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field

The Quality Control & Test Drive Officer is responsible for verifying the technical quality of every vehicle repaired or serviced within the workshop before it is released to the customer. The role combines final quality inspection with structured road testing, ensuring that the reported complaint has been rectified, that no secondary defect has been introduced during the repair, and that the vehicle is delivered in a condition consistent with the standards. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out an initial road test, where required, to confirm and reproduce the customer complaint recorded on the job card. Communicate initial findings to the Service Advisor and Job Controller to support accurate diagnosis and estimation Inspect every completed job against the job card, the repair order and the applicable manufacturer repair standard before release Perform the post-repair road test on the approved test route Confirm that the original complaint has been fully rectified and that no new defect has been introduced during the repair. Reject and return to the workshop any vehicle that does not meet the required standard, stating the defect and the corrective action needed. Re-inspect and road test the vehicle after rework, and release it only once the standard is met. Escalate recurring or unresolved technical defects to the Workshop Manager. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of automotive systems and repairs. 1-2 Years of proven experience as an automotive Technician, preferably in the automotive industry or service center. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. ND, HND or bachelor's degree in a relevant field and technical training in automotive service is a plus.
