Job Summary

  • The Inventory Officer is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure the availability of materials and products.
  • The role oversees stock movements, conducts inventory reconciliations, supports stock audits, and ensures compliance with company procedures to achieve efficient inventory management and minimize stock discrepancies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Receive, issue, and record stock movements promptly.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
  • Investigate and report stock variances or discrepancies.
  • Update inventory data and prepare inventory reports.
  • Ensure proper storage and identification of materials.
  • Support internal and external stock audits.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, production, and dispatch teams on stock requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with inventory control procedures and HSE standards.
  • Ensure good housekeeping within inventory storage areas.

Education and Work Experience

  • Education: Minimum of HND/B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 2 - 4 years' experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or stock management.
  • Experience in stock reconciliation, auditing, and inventory reporting is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems (ERP is an advantage).
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and procedures.
