Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update ActivityInfo beneficiary databases and support beneficiary registration, data entry, synchronization, and consolidation across consortium partners and programme activities.
  • Support the configuration, testing, maintenance, and routine updating of ActivityInfo forms, databases, calculated fields, reporting tools, and mobile/offline data collection workflows under the supervision of the IM Specialist.
  • Support field teams and partners with ActivityInfo mobile data collection, including user access, downloading forms and databases for offline use, synchronization, troubleshooting, and verification that submitted records are successfully received in the database.
  • Conduct routine data quality assurance, identify missing, incomplete, inconsistent, or unusual records, support the execution and monitoring of automated quality checks, and follow up issues recorded in the ActivityInfo Cleaning Log with partner MEAL focal points.
  • Support beneficiary deduplication processes, including running approved exact and fuzzy duplicate checks, reviewing generated outputs, maintaining deduplication logs, and following up flagged records with the IM Specialist and designated partner MEAL staff for validation and resolution.
  • Support MPCA beneficiary and distribution reconciliation by preparing ActivityInfo extracts, matching registration and distribution records, identifying missing or unmatched beneficiaries, duplicates, and inconsistencies, and preparing exception lists for review by the IM Specialist and partners.
  • Support the IM Specialist during reconciliation with the Cash Specialist by cross-checking FSP payment lists against finalized ActivityInfo beneficiary and distribution records, confirming beneficiary IDs, names, amounts, beneficiary counts, and total cash disbursement figures.
  • Prepare and maintain beneficiary lists, routine protection referral list and monitoring reports, dashboards, data extracts, and summary statistics for programme monitoring, PDM, donor reporting, management review, and other approved information needs.
  • Provide first-line technical support and practical training to consortium partners and programme/MEAL staff on ActivityInfo, approved data collection tools, data quality procedures, reporting requirements, and standard IM workflows, escalating complex issues to the IM Specialist.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date IM documentation and records, including data quality and reconciliation files, data dictionaries, form and version changes, user access records, and relevant SOPs, while ensuring beneficiary information is securely stored and handled in accordance with DRC data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Support other information management and data management tasks assigned by the IM Specialist and Chief of Party in line with programme priorities.

Requirements

  • University degree in computer science or programming, information management, information technologies, or other relevant area. Masters preferred.
  • Certificate in programming languages desirable

Essential:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in information management, database design or database administration, and/or information management with development projects implemented by national/international NGOs/UN.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in data analysis software (ActivityInfo, Excel, SQL, R, Access, PowerBI or other statistical package)
  • Strong knowledge of data management systems, including database design, management, and administration.
  • Experience with GIS mapping and other spatial analysis tools is an advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of database platforms and the ability to write code and queries.
  • Knowledge of M&E processes and data collection platforms such as ActivityInfo, Kobo, ODK, SurveyCTO, CommCare.
  • Demonstrated experience in training and capacity-building on information management systems and data collection processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.

Additional skills:

  • Languages spoken in Northern Nigeria.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to develop tools/SOPs, and experience in participatory training approaches.
  • Ability to work independently, take the lead, collaborate effectively, and uphold DRC core competencies.
  • Good if experience in integrated programming with other sectors
