Professional Summary

We are seeking a proactive and safety-conscious HSE Officer to support the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety and Environmental standards across our operations and work sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures and safety programs.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and ensure prompt corrective actions.
  • Conduct health and safety risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Investigate accidents, near-misses and safety violations, document findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on work sites.
  • Ensure emergency response procedures are in place and employees are trained on emergency procedures.
  • Monitor environmental compliance, including proper storage, disposal and recycling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, incident investigations and compliance reports.
  • Ensure HSE-related documentation, permits, certifications and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date.
  • Stay updated on relevant HSE regulations and standards and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and safe work practices across the organization.
  • Report safety hazards and compliance concerns promptly to site management and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree/HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety or a related field.
  • Relevant HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, NISCN or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Relevant HSE experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing or engineering.
  • Good knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation and HSE compliance.
  • Strong communication, documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to conduct site inspections and effectively enforce safety standards.
  • Proactive, observant and committed to workplace safety.
