The successful candidate will provide effective counselling and guidance services to students, supporting their academic, personal, social, and career development while working closely with parents, teachers, and school management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counselling sessions for students.
Support students with academic, personal, social, behavioural, and career-related concerns.
Conduct career guidance and help students make informed choices regarding further education and career pathways.
Identify students who may require additional support and make appropriate referrals where necessary.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions and student progress.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school leadership to support students' overall wellbeing and development.
Organise programmes and activities that promote students' personal development, positive behaviour, and life skills.
Support students in developing effective study habits, decision-making skills, and goal-setting strategies.
Handle student concerns professionally and maintain appropriate confidentiality in line with school policies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Guidance and Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a related discipline.
Professional qualification or certification in counselling will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, preferably within a school environment.
Strong knowledge of student counselling, career guidance, and adolescent development.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, listening, and problem-solving skills.
Strong professional ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
A compassionate, approachable, and student-centred approach.
